📋 Job Description

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Clean and mop the gym floor, stretching area, functional training zone, and group fitness studio at the start and end of each shift and during midday cleaning intervals as per the cleaning schedule.
• Sanitise cardio equipment consoles, handles, seat pads, and footrests and resistance machine upholstery, handles, and adjustment pins using disinfectant spray and microfibre cloths between member uses.
• Clean and sanitise the male and female locker rooms, changing areas, and washrooms at scheduled intervals throughout the day, maintaining hygiene to a standard consistent with the centre's member experience expectations.
• Empty waste bins and sanitary disposal units in all areas of the gym including the gym floor, locker rooms, toilets, and reception at the scheduled frequency and dispose of waste in segregated bins.
• Replenish toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and sanitary supplies in all washroom and changing room areas during cleaning rounds and report low supply levels to the supervisor.
• Manage used towel collection from gym floor stations and locker rooms, bundle and count soiled towels for laundry pickup, and distribute fresh towels to replenish floor and reception stocks.
• Handle cleaning chemicals including floor cleaner, toilet disinfectant, glass cleaner, and equipment sanitiser safely by following dilution instructions, wearing protective gloves, and storing chemicals in the designated area.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 8th standard pass with a basic understanding of cleaning duties and the physical ability to perform active housekeeping tasks including mopping, scrubbing, and carrying cleaning equipment throughout a shift.
• Familiarity with gym facility cleaning requirements including equipment surface sanitisation protocols, locker room cleaning standards, and toilet hygiene maintenance.
• Physical stamina to perform continuous active cleaning duties across a full shift including mopping large floor areas, scrubbing washrooms, and carrying towel bundles.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemical safety including appropriate dilution of cleaning agents, wearing protective gloves, and avoiding mixing of incompatible chemicals.
• Understanding of waste segregation applicable to gym facilities including general waste, sanitary waste, recyclable waste, and used towels requiring laundry processing.
• Reliability and punctuality to report for shift on time and complete the cleaning schedule without gaps that could affect member experience during peak gym hours.
• Willingness to work morning, afternoon, and evening shift rotations including weekends to provide consistent cleaning coverage across the gym centre's full operating hours.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
