📌 Key Responsibilities

• Head the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and manage all academic and clinical operations
• Oversee the MDS Orthodontics programme including curriculum, case logs, and postgraduate training quality
• Supervise and mentor faculty at all levels within the department
• Conduct advanced orthodontic cases including surgical orthodontics in coordination with the oral surgery department
• Direct departmental research, approve MDS dissertation topics, and lead publication output
• Serve as external examiner for orthodontics in affiliated and visiting dental colleges
• Represent the department in institutional governance, DCI inspections, and inter-departmental committees

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from a DCI-recognised institution
• DCI registration with professor-level eligibility - minimum 10 years post-MDS teaching experience
• Strong publication record in orthodontics, dentofacial orthopaedics, or related fields
• Experience guiding multiple MDS dissertation students to completion
• Proficiency in advanced fixed appliance therapy and surgical orthodontics coordination
• Experience as external examiner in university orthodontics examinations
• Passion for department building, faculty mentoring, and academic leadership
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
