📌 Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for inpatients and OPD patients with mental health conditions
• Diagnose and manage common psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications with regular safety and efficacy reviews
• Administer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for treatment-resistant depression and severe psychiatric conditions
• Provide liaison psychiatry consultations for medical and surgical inpatients with mental health comorbidities
• Conduct de-addiction assessments and manage alcohol and substance dependence withdrawal
• Provide crisis intervention and coordinate inpatient psychiatric admission for high-risk patients

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MBBS + MD Psychiatry or DNB Psychiatry from a recognized institution
• 3 - 12 Years of post-MD clinical psychiatry experience
• TNMC registration mandatory
• Competency in psychopharmacology across all major psychiatric diagnostic categories
• ECT administration experience preferred
• Liaison psychiatry experience for hospital consultation roles
• Child and adolescent psychiatry training preferred for hospitals with paediatric services
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
