📌 Key Responsibilities

• Manage the school library collection including cataloguing, classification, and routine maintenance
• Promote a culture of reading by curating reading lists and organising book clubs and reading events
• Support students and teachers in accessing physical and digital library resources
• Assist IB Diploma students with research skills, citation methods, and Extended Essay resource guidance
• Manage the library management system including OPAC catalogues and digital lending records
• Conduct library orientation sessions for new students and integrate information literacy into the curriculum
• Evaluate and recommend new acquisitions aligned with the curriculum and student interests

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Lib.Sc. or M.Lib.Sc. from a recognised library science institution
• Minimum one year of library management experience, preferably in a school or educational setting
• Familiarity with library management software such as Koha, Destiny, or Follett
• Knowledge of cataloguing standards including Dewey Decimal Classification and MARC records
• Ability to curate age-appropriate reading collections across genres and curriculum subjects
• Experience supporting IB or Cambridge students with research skills and academic citation
• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging students, teachers, and parents in library programmes
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
