📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Accounts Executive positions in Chennai's private Construction Company sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Maintain project accounts in Tally ERP including contractor bills, subcontractor invoices, material purchase entries, and overhead expenses
• Prepare and process subcontractor running account bills and final account payments after deducting retention and TDS
• File monthly GST returns including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for construction company transactions and reconcile GSTR-2B
• Deduct TDS at applicable rates on contractor payments, professional fees, and rent and file quarterly TDS returns
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and Tally ledgers
• Manage petty cash fund for site and office expenses with daily voucher entry and weekly reconciliation
• Assist in preparation of project cost reports, project ledger summaries, and monthly accounts MIS for management

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Com from a recognised university with 0-3 years of accounts experience in a construction company, real estate firm, or contractor
• Working knowledge of Tally ERP Prime for full accounting including purchase, sales, journal entries, and GST returns
• Familiarity with construction industry billing including contractor running account bills, retention deductions, and subcontractor TDS
• Knowledge of GST provisions applicable to construction including works contract GST rates and reverse charge mechanism
• Understanding of TDS provisions under Income Tax Act for contractor payments, professional fees, and rent
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining project cost ledgers and reconciliation statements
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel for accounts MIS preparation and project cost reporting to management
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
