📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Assistant Professor - English positions in Chennai private engineering colleges. This role is with an AICTE-approved self-financing engineering college affiliated to Anna University or another recognized technical university, offering a structured academic career with NBA accreditation support and faculty development programmes.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Teach Professional English Communication and Technical English for first and second year B.E./B.Tech students of all branches
• Conduct language laboratory sessions using language lab software for pronunciation, listening, speaking, and writing skill development
• Teach technical report writing, presentation skills, email communication, and business correspondence
• Deliver soft skills sessions including group discussion, interview skills, body language, and teamwork for placement preparation
• Coordinate with Training and Placement department for English and communication components of pre-placement training
• Set internal assessment papers, conduct group discussion evaluations, and assess student communication portfolios
• Participate in ELT, Technical Communication, and Soft Skills Faculty Development Programmes

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• M.A. English, M.A. Applied Linguistics, or M.A. English Language Teaching from a recognized university with UGC NET or SET
• Ph.D. in English, Linguistics, ELT, or Technical Communication preferred for senior roles
• 0 - 6 Years of English communication teaching experience; engineering college experience preferred
• Strong skills in English language teaching, soft skills training, and technical communication
• Experience with language lab software (Callan, Tell Me More, Digital Lab) is a significant advantage
• Ability to conduct group discussions, mock interviews, and presentation skill sessions
• Understanding of engineering student communication challenges and placement preparation needs
