📌 Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate pharmacognosy practical sessions covering crude drug identification, botanical microscopy, and phytochemical screening techniques to B.Pharm students
• Conduct practical experiments on macroscopical and microscopical identification of official crude drugs using herbarium specimens, powdered drugs, and permanent slides
• Assist faculty during practical sessions on phytochemical extraction, TLC-based fingerprinting, and preliminary phytochemical screening of plant samples
• Maintain the pharmacognosy laboratory including herbarium, plant specimens, microscopes, and reference standards collection
• Prepare crude drug display boards, permanent microscopy slides, and reference material for student study and PCI inspections
• Assess student practical records, drug identification viva, and microscopy skills during internal practical examinations
• Support faculty in developing teaching materials and maintaining department documentation for PCI compliance

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy from a PCI-recognized institution
• 0 - 3 Years of pharmacy college pharmacognosy lab experience; freshers with M.Pharm Pharmacognosy eligible
• Strong practical skills in botanical microscopy, crude drug identification, and phytochemical screening
• Ability to demonstrate identification of at least 100 official crude drugs of plant, animal, and mineral origin
• Familiarity with TLC techniques for phytoconstituent fingerprinting and quality evaluation
• Experience maintaining herbarium specimens, permanent slides, and crude drug collection for teaching use
• Interest in herbal medicine, phytochemistry, and natural product research as a long-term career path
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
