📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic 2D echocardiography examinations on outpatient cardiology referrals, acquiring standard parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal views.
• Acquire M-mode measurements for left ventricular dimensions, wall thickness, and ejection fraction estimation under cardiologist supervision.
• Perform pulsed-wave and continuous-wave Doppler studies for valvular flow assessment, gradient calculation, and diastolic function evaluation.
• Execute colour flow Doppler mapping to identify valvular regurgitation, septal defects, and abnormal intracardiac flow patterns for cardiologist interpretation.
• Assist cardiologists during dobutamine stress echocardiography by managing the infusion protocol, acquiring images at each dose level, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Perform foetal echocardiography scans on obstetric referrals for congenital heart disease screening under paediatric cardiologist supervision.
• Document all echocardiography measurements and save image loops to PACS or echo workstation for cardiologist reporting and patient record archival.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or B.Sc. in Cardiac Technology with at least one year of transthoracic echocardiography experience in a cardiology centre or diagnostic facility.
• Proficiency in acquiring standard 2D echo views including parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical 4-chamber, 2-chamber, and 5-chamber views.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy as visualised by echocardiography including chamber dimensions, valve anatomy, myocardial wall segments, and great vessel origins.
• Experience with pulsed-wave and continuous-wave Doppler for mitral inflow, tricuspid, aortic, and pulmonary valve flow assessment.
• Familiarity with colour flow Doppler mapping for regurgitant jet grading and septal defect flow detection.
• Ability to perform and document LV ejection fraction measurement by biplane Simpson's method and M-mode-based fractional shortening calculation.
• Awareness of stress echocardiography protocols and monitoring requirements during dobutamine infusion for ischaemia detection.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
