📌 Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the organisation's data science strategy, research agenda, and AI roadmap in alignment with business goals
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and NLP or vision specialists across multiple client or product workstreams
• Evaluate and adopt new ML and AI methodologies to maintain technical excellence and competitive advantage
• Represent the data science function in executive leadership discussions, client engagements, and industry forums
• Partner with product, engineering, and analytics consulting leadership to identify AI-powered opportunities within the business
• Establish model governance, experimentation standards, and ethical AI guidelines for the organisation
• Drive thought leadership through white papers, conference presentations, and client advisory on AI adoption strategies

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics with ten to twenty years of progressive data science leadership experience
• Deep technical expertise across the ML spectrum including classical methods, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision
• Proven ability to build and lead data science teams of fifteen or more members in a commercial analytics environment
• Experience defining AI strategy at an organisational or business unit level and delivering measurable business impact
• Strong executive communication skills for presenting AI vision and results to C-suite leadership and client boards
• Track record of publishing research, presenting at conferences, or leading technical communities is advantageous
• Experience managing P and L for a data science practice or contributing directly to revenue growth through AI solutions
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
