📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of garment alterations including hemming, tapering, sleeve adjustments, and waist fittings
• Take accurate customer measurements and advise on feasibility and turnaround time for each alteration order
• Stitch blouses and provide fitting services for sarees and ethnic wear purchased in the store
• Repair damaged garments including seam splitting, button replacement, and zip replacement
• Maintain the alteration workstation in a clean and organised condition with all tools serviced
• Manage the daily alteration order log and ensure all garments are completed within promised delivery timelines
• Coordinate with the sales team to receive alteration orders and deliver finished garments to the customer collection counter

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI certificate in Tailoring or a Diploma in Fashion Design or Tailoring from a recognised institution
• One to five years of hands-on garment alteration experience in a retail store or tailoring establishment
• Proficiency in both hand and machine stitching for a wide range of fabric types including silk, cotton, and synthetics
• Ability to take accurate measurements and advise customers on appropriate alterations for best fit
• Speed and precision to handle high volumes of alteration orders during peak seasons
• Knowledge of blouse stitching and ethnic wear fitting is a strong advantage for fashion retail environments
• Good interpersonal skills for direct customer interaction during measurement and fitting consultations
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
