📌 Key Responsibilities

• Take full on-ground production responsibility for Tamil film projects, overseeing the complete unit from pre-production through principal photography completion
• Manage the entire production budget on behalf of the producer, approving all department expenditures and maintaining detailed financial records
• Co-ordinate between the director, cinematographer, cast, and all below-the-line departments to ensure the daily shoot schedule is met without compromise
• Negotiate and finalise contracts with key vendors including equipment rental companies, post-production facilities, and location owners
• Identify and mitigate production risks including weather delays, permit issues, cast unavailability, and equipment failures during outdoor schedules
• Oversee the production manager and assistant directors to ensure all departments are aligned with the approved schedule and budget at all times
• Report directly to the executive producer and creative producer on shoot progress, budget status, and any issues requiring producer-level decisions
• Co-ordinate post-production handover by organising footage, sound recordings, and production assets for delivery to the editing and post-production team

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 3 to 8 years of Tamil film or OTT production experience with at least 2 years in a production management or line producing capacity
• Graduate in Film Studies, Mass Communication, Business Management, or any discipline with a strong practical Tamil film production track record
• Demonstrated ability to manage full production budgets for Tamil feature films or OTT series from pre-production to principal photography wrap
• Strong established vendor and crew relationships in Chennai's Tamil film production ecosystem including equipment houses, studios, and location providers
• Ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously under high-pressure conditions during complex multi-location Tamil film shoots
• Excellent Tamil and English communication skills for dealing with directors, producers, crew, vendors, and authorities across all production stages
• Clear understanding of Tamil film industry contracts, payment norms, and production legal requirements including location permits and labour compliance
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
