📌 Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute the visual environment of Tamil film and OTT productions including sets, locations, props, and graphic elements
• Collaborate with the director and DOP to develop a cohesive visual concept for the film's world, mood, colour palette, and spatial design
• Source and procure props, furniture, set dressings, and graphic elements that accurately represent the film's setting, period, and cultural context
• Supervise set construction teams, carpenters, and painters to build studio sets within budget and to the approved design specifications
• Transform real locations through set dressing, prop placement, and environmental modifications to match the script's visual requirements
• Prepare detailed art direction budgets, manage expenditure across all art department sub-categories, and report to the production manager
• Co-ordinate with the costume designer to ensure visual harmony between the art direction approach and the characters' wardrobe and colour palette

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 2 to 7 years of experience in art direction or production design for Tamil film, OTT, or ad film productions with a strong portfolio
• B.Des or Graduate in Interior Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or Visual Communication with demonstrated Tamil film production design experience
• Strong creative and spatial design skills with the ability to visualise and realise physical environments that serve the film's narrative
• Practical knowledge of set construction, materials, and the management of construction crews and prop sourcing vendors in Chennai
• Ability to manage the art department budget effectively and source high-quality props and set elements within the production's financial constraints
• Deep knowledge of Tamil cultural aesthetics, regional architecture, and period settings relevant to the range of Tamil cinema genres
• Excellent communication skills for presenting design concepts to directors and co-ordinating with multiple departments including costume, lighting, and camera
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
