📌 Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Service Level Objectives, Service Level Indicators, and error budgets for critical components of the product platform.
• Lead incident response efforts, coordinate cross-team communication during production outages, and facilitate blameless post-mortems.
• Build and improve observability systems including metrics dashboards, distributed tracing, and structured logging to reduce mean time to detect and resolve issues.
• Implement chaos engineering practices to proactively identify failure modes and improve system resilience before incidents reach customers.
• Design capacity planning models and autoscaling strategies to ensure the platform handles growth without manual intervention.
• Drive automation of toil-heavy operational tasks, reducing manual intervention in recurring operational workflows.
• Partner with engineering teams to review system designs for reliability, influencing architecture decisions that reduce failure blast radius.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science or IT with three to eight years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or senior DevOps roles.
• Deep understanding of SRE principles including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and reliability engineering methodology.
• Expert-level proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration at production scale.
• Extensive experience with observability tooling including Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing (Jaeger/Zipkin), and log aggregation.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python or Go for building reliability tooling and automating operational workflows.
• Experience leading incident response, conducting post-mortems, and driving systemic improvements from reliability learnings.
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking, security groups, service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), and multi-region deployment architectures.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
