📌 Key Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilise emergency cases including trauma, toxin ingestion, respiratory distress, and cardiac arrest
• Manage ICU in-patients including fluid therapy, oxygen support, and multi-parameter monitoring
• Perform emergency procedures such as thoracocentesis, abdominocentesis, and airway management
• Respond to in-hospital cardiac and respiratory arrest situations and lead resuscitation efforts
• Communicate with pet owners of critical patients clearly and compassionately regarding prognosis and treatment options
• Coordinate with the surgical team for emergency surgical referrals and theatre preparation
• Maintain detailed ICU records and handover documentation for shift continuity

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc. and AH with VCI registration and minimum three years of dedicated small animal emergency and critical care experience
• Proficiency in emergency triage, fluid resuscitation protocols, and ICU monitoring systems
• Experience managing multi-trauma, toxicology, respiratory failure, and cardiac emergency cases
• Competency in performing emergency procedures under pressure with minimal support staff
• Knowledge of emergency drug formulary and critical care pharmacology for small animals
• BLS certification and familiarity with CPR protocols for small animals
• Ability to work night shifts, long hours, and on-call rosters as part of a 24-hour emergency team
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
