📋 Job Description

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Install fire sprinkler systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action systems as per fire fighting drawings.
• Lay and connect fire hydrant mains, landing valves, hose reels, and yard hydrant assemblies.
• Install FM200, CO2, and other gaseous suppression systems in server rooms and electrical switchgear rooms.
• Fit grooved couplings, flanged joints, and threaded fittings for fire fighting pipe networks.
• Carry out hydrostatic pressure testing of installed fire fighting pipe systems to verify integrity.
• Coordinate with the fire alarm subcontractor for integration of sprinkler flow switches and tamper switches.
• Maintain site test reports, material records, and daily installation progress for supervisor and QA review.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI in any trade or Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 1 to 4 years of experience in fire fighting system installation at commercial or industrial sites.
• Hands-on skill with grooved coupling assembly, pipe threading, and flanged joint preparation.
• Knowledge of fire sprinkler head types, sprinkler spacing rules, and hydraulic calculation basics.
• Familiarity with IS 15105 fire sprinkler and NFPA 13 sprinkler design concepts at a practical level.
• Awareness of FM200 discharge procedures, safety interlocks, and manual abort protocols.
• Willingness to work at heights with proper scaffolding and safety harness in commercial construction environments.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
