📌 Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles including trucks, tempos, and two-wheelers based on mileage or time intervals
• Conduct periodic vehicle inspections to verify roadworthiness, brake condition, tyre tread, lighting, and body condition before deployment
• Ensure all fleet vehicles maintain valid fitness certificates, permits, insurance, and PUC certificates as required under CMVR and Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Act
• Manage breakdown response by coordinating roadside assistance, recovery vehicles, and emergency repairs to minimize route disruption
• Oversee tyre life tracking, rotation schedules, and vendor-managed tyre replacement to optimize tyre cost per kilometre
• Monitor fuel consumption across vehicles, identify anomalies, and coordinate with the fuel vendor for accurate fill and reporting
• Manage AMC vendor relationships for annual maintenance contracts on fleet vehicles and evaluate vendor performance against cost and uptime benchmarks
• Prepare monthly fleet MIS covering vehicle uptime percentage, breakdown frequency, maintenance cost per vehicle, and compliance status

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering from a recognized polytechnic or institution
• 2 - 6 Years of experience in fleet maintenance, vehicle workshop supervision, or transport operations in a logistics or fleet management environment
• Good knowledge of commercial vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown troubleshooting for trucks and light commercial vehicles
• Familiarity with CMVR compliance requirements including fitness certificate, permit, insurance, and PUC validity for commercial vehicles in Tamil Nadu
• Experience managing tyre life tracking, fuel monitoring, and AMC vendor coordination for a fleet of 20 or more vehicles
• Ability to respond to breakdown situations calmly and coordinate recovery and repair within defined response time targets
• MS Excel skills for fleet maintenance MIS, vehicle-wise cost tracking, and compliance calendar management
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
