📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for HVAC Design Engineer positions in Coimbatore's private MEP and Infrastructure Company sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Carry out HVAC cooling load calculations using HAP, Carrier E20-II, or equivalent load estimation software.
• Design supply and return duct systems including sizing, static pressure calculations, and diffuser selection.
• Prepare HVAC design drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, and specifications for consultant approval.
• Select HVAC equipment including AHUs, FCUs, VRF outdoor and indoor units, and chiller plants for project requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical and BMS teams for HVAC power requirements, control panel specifications, and DDC integration.
• Review shop drawings submitted by MEP contractors for compliance with approved HVAC design.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQ, and comparative statements for HVAC procurement and tendering.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution with strong thermodynamics and fluid mechanics foundation.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in HVAC system design for commercial buildings including offices, hospitals, or data centres.
• Proficiency in load calculation software such as HAP 5.x, Carrier E20-II, or Trace 700.
• Knowledge of duct sizing methods including equal friction and velocity reduction methods.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards 62.1 and 90.1 and NBC Part 8 air conditioning provisions.
• AutoCAD drafting skill for preparing HVAC layout drawings and equipment room layouts.
• Knowledge of VRF system design tools from Daikin, Mitsubishi, or equivalent brands is an advantage.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
