📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for VP / COO (MEP Contracting) positions in Coimbatore's private MEP and Infrastructure Company sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP contracting business unit with full P and L accountability for a portfolio of concurrent projects.
• Drive business development by securing new MEP contracts from main contractors, developers, and direct clients.
• Set and execute the company's MEP contracting strategy including target sectors, geography, and project size.
• Oversee all project delivery functions including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage key client and main contractor relationships to ensure repeat business and contract renewals.
• Lead cash flow management, contract risk review, and commercial dispute resolution for major projects.
• Build and develop leadership capability across project managers, design leads, and commercial teams.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; MBA in Construction Management or General Management preferred.
• 15 to 28 years of progressive MEP contracting experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrated track record of managing MEP contracting P and L above Rs.100 crore annual revenue.
• Strong business development credentials with the ability to pursue and close large MEP contract opportunities.
• Deep understanding of MEP contracting commercial models, contract risk, and cash flow dynamics.
• Excellent people leadership with experience building and retaining high-performing MEP engineering and project management teams.
• Track record of operating across Coimbatore and South India with strong relationships in real estate, data centre, and industrial sectors.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

B.E. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing engineering roles; Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering for site supervisor and technician roles; ITI Electrician or Plumber for site tradesman roles; AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP for design and drafting roles; ASHRAE, NBC Part 8, and IS 1646 fire fighting code knowledge; CPVC and HDPE plumbing specification knowledge; CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) for energy audit roles; electrical licence (wireman and supervisor) from TNERC for electrical contractor roles; IS 732 and CPRI standards for electrical testing and commissioning
