📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Accounts Officer positions in Chennai private arts and science colleges. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Manage student fee collection, receipts, and outstanding dues using the college fee management system
• Prepare monthly salary statements, process faculty and staff payroll, and disburse salaries on time
• Maintain day-to-day accounts including cash book, bank book, and ledger entries in Tally ERP
• Prepare annual budget estimates, monitor expenditure, and present monthly financial MIS to management
• Handle GST compliance, income tax TDS deductions, and other statutory filings for the college
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual audit and provide required documentation
• Manage scholarship disbursements, government fee concession records, and student fee arrear tracking

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Com or M.Com with 2-7 years of accounts experience; CA Inter qualification preferred
• Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime for accounts and payroll management
• Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance requirements for educational institutions
• Experience handling fee management, student accounts, and staff payroll in a college or institution preferred
• Good attention to detail for financial record accuracy and audit readiness
• Familiarity with government scholarship portals (e-Kalvi, PMSSS, Tamil Nadu scholarship schemes) preferred
• Honest, reliable, and confidential handling of financial records
