📌 Key Responsibilities

• Source gold bullion, diamond lots, and finished jewellery from certified vendors and manufacturer partners
• Negotiate making charges, wastage norms, stone prices, and delivery terms with jewellery suppliers
• Plan jewellery collection additions based on market trends, customer demand, and seasonal requirements
• Manage purchase orders from issuance through delivery, GRN, and quality acceptance
• Monitor supplier compliance with hallmarking standards, delivery schedules, and agreed quality specifications
• Track category-wise inventory levels and plan procurement to maintain optimal stock depth without overstock
• Conduct market visits to Chennai and national jewellery manufacturing centres to identify new designs and vendors

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent; MBA is preferred
• Three to eight years of jewellery buying or procurement experience in a showroom or jewellery chain
• Strong vendor negotiation skills with knowledge of making charges, wastage, and diamond pricing structures
• Deep understanding of jewellery market trends, seasonal demand patterns, and customer preferences in Chennai
• Familiarity with gold bullion procurement, hallmarking compliance, and diamond certifications
• Analytical skills for inventory planning, open-to-buy management, and procurement cost optimisation
• Willingness to travel to jewellery manufacturing hubs such as Mumbai, Surat, and Coimbatore for buying
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
