📌 Key Responsibilities

• Assist production cooks with bulk vegetable washing, peeling, and cutting to kitchen specification before each meal service.
• Prepare mise en place items such as chopped garnishes, measured spices, and portioned raw ingredients for the production line.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned kitchen sections including work surfaces, cutting boards, and utensils throughout the shift.
• Receive raw ingredients from store and transport to designated kitchen sections following FIFO stock handling procedures.
• Support bulk cooking operations during peak industrial canteen service by replenishing prepared ingredients to cooking stations.
• Dispose of kitchen waste correctly into designated segregated bins and keep waste disposal areas clean at all times.
• Follow all FSSAI food safety and personal hygiene guidelines including hand washing, hairnet, and apron discipline.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 12th standard pass required; prior exposure to any catering kitchen or food service environment is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, personal cleanliness, and food safety practices relevant to industrial catering.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as cutting, washing, and lifting during long bulk production shifts.
• Willingness to work early morning or split shifts common in industrial canteen and institutional catering operations.
• No prior formal experience required; on-the-job training provided by the catering company for selected candidates.
• FSSAI basic food handler certificate is preferred; employer may arrange training for eligible new joiners.
• Good attitude toward teamwork and ability to follow production instructions from senior cooks and supervisors.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
