📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Electrical Technician (Site) positions in Chennai's private MEP and Infrastructure Company sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate LT distribution panels, switchgear, and circuit breakers at commercial and industrial project sites.
• Pull and lay power and control cables in cable trays, conduits, and underground ducts as per electrical drawings.
• Carry out earthing and lightning protection installations including earth pits, copper bonding, and earth resistance testing.
• Connect and test distribution boards, isolators, and metering panels as per approved shop drawings.
• Test installed circuits for continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity before energisation.
• Coordinate with civil and structural teams for sleeve embedment, cable tray supports, and panel room finishing.
• Maintain daily site installation records, test reports, and punch list closure documentation for QA review.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI in Electrician trade from a recognised institution; wireman licence from TNERC is preferred.
• 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in LT electrical installation at commercial or industrial construction sites.
• Practical knowledge of cable termination, lug crimping, and panel wiring for LT systems up to 1100V.
• Understanding of electrical safety including live work procedures, PPE use, and lock-out tag-out protocols.
• Ability to read single line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical installation drawings.
• Experience with earth resistance testing using a megger and continuity testing of power and control circuits.
• Familiarity with HT cable laying and transformer connections is an advantage for senior roles.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
