📌 Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior cooks and chefs with vegetable preparation, peeling, cutting, marinating, and basic food prep tasks.
• Set up and maintain the kitchen station mise en place by preparing ingredients and tools before service begins.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen workstations, cooking equipment, and storage areas following FSSAI hygiene protocols.
• Assist with receiving food deliveries and ensure proper storage in dry stores, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Wash and clean cooking utensils, crockery, pots, and kitchen equipment during and after service periods.
• Follow FIFO stock rotation principles to minimise food spoilage and waste in kitchen storage areas.
• Support the cook or chef de partie during service by fetching ingredients, replenishing station supplies, and clearing waste.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 12th pass from a recognised board; Diploma in Food Production from an AICTE-approved vocational institute is an advantage.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a hotel kitchen, catering unit, or restaurant kitchen environment.
• Basic knife handling skills and ability to perform vegetable preparation and ingredient pre-processing tasks.
• Understanding of kitchen hygiene and FSSAI food safety basics applicable to hotel kitchen operations.
• Physical stamina to manage standing kitchen duties and handle hot kitchen conditions during full service periods.
• Honest, hardworking attitude and willingness to assist with all kitchen tasks including cleaning and dishwashing.
• Willingness to work early morning, split, or evening kitchen shifts as required by the hotel's operations.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
