📌 Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior cooks and chefs in daily kitchen prep work including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables to specification.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned kitchen sections including work surfaces, chopping boards, and cooking utensils.
• Receive and store raw ingredients from vendor deliveries following FIFO stock rotation procedures.
• Prepare mise en place items such as chopped garnishes, sauces, and portioned raw materials as directed.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, slicers, and steamers under chef supervision.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain segregated bins as per food safety guidelines.
• Support cooking operations during peak service hours by replenishing prepared ingredients to cooking stations.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 8th standard pass minimum; 10th pass preferred by most Chennai restaurant chains.
• Genuine interest in kitchen work and willingness to learn cooking techniques from senior staff.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and personal cleanliness practices.
• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and handle moderate kitchen workloads.
• Willingness to work morning, afternoon, or night shifts as assigned by the kitchen manager.
• FSSAI food handler certificate is an advantage; training may be provided by the employer.
• Prior experience in any kitchen or domestic cooking environment is a bonus but not mandatory.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
