📌 Key Responsibilities

• Operate fully automated and semi-automated biochemistry analysers to process glucose, lipid, liver function, renal function, and thyroid panels as per daily test workload.
• Perform daily calibration and quality control procedures using assigned QC materials and document results in the QC logbook as per NABL requirements.
• Identify and flag critical values immediately and follow the critical value communication protocol to notify the duty lab physician or client.
• Prepare reagents and maintain adequate stock levels by raising indent requests before minimum stock levels are reached.
• Validate and verify analyser results by checking against previous patient values and flagging abnormal delta checks for physician review.
• Enter final authorised results into the laboratory information system and ensure timely availability of reports for patient collection or dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness and biosafety of the biochemistry bench by decontaminating work surfaces, disposing reagent waste correctly, and following standard precautions.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• DMLT or B.Sc. MLT from a recognised institution with hands-on experience in a biochemistry laboratory.
• Proficiency in operating fully automated biochemistry analysers such as clinical chemistry platforms used in high-volume diagnostic labs.
• Knowledge of calibration procedures, internal quality control (IQC) practices, and Westgard rule interpretation.
• Understanding of common biochemistry panels including liver function tests, renal function tests, lipid profiles, thyroid function tests, and HbA1c.
• Ability to identify critical values and follow escalation protocols for reporting to clinical staff promptly.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems for result entry, validation, and report release workflows.
• Awareness of NABL quality requirements and documentation standards relevant to biochemistry laboratory operations.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
