📌 Key Responsibilities

• Teach Medical Microbiology to B.Sc. Nursing students covering bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, immunology, and hospital infection control
• Conduct microbiology laboratory practicals on culture techniques, Gram staining, identification of common pathogens, and sensitivity testing basics
• Teach infection control nursing practice: standard precautions, PPE use, hand hygiene, sterilisation and disinfection methods, and biomedical waste management
• Explain microbiology of common hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) relevant to nursing ICU and ward practice
• Set and evaluate internal assessments, model examinations, and practical evaluations in Microbiology
• Develop student understanding of vaccine-preventable diseases, immunization schedules, and public health microbiology
• Participate in infection control committee activities and faculty development programmes

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, or M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university
• Ph.D. in Microbiology or Infection Control preferred for senior roles
• 0 - 5 Years of teaching or clinical microbiology experience; freshers with M.Sc. eligible
• Thorough knowledge of medical microbiology, hospital infection control, and sterilisation methods
• Ability to conduct microbiology practicals: culture preparation, staining, and basic sensitivity testing
• Understanding of current hospital infection control guidelines (WHO, CDC, NABH standards)
• Infection Control Nurse (ICN) certification is an added advantage for clinical microbiology teaching
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
