📌 Key Responsibilities

• Teach Pharmacology to B.Sc. Nursing students covering drug classifications, mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, contraindications, and nursing implications for major drug groups
• Conduct drug calculation practical sessions covering dosage calculations, IV drip rate calculations, and pediatric dose adjustments
• Teach nursing responsibilities in medication administration: rights of medication, controlled drug handling, high-alert drug protocols, and adverse drug reaction reporting
• Explain pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics concepts in the context of patient medication safety
• Set and evaluate internal assessments and university pharmacology examination papers
• Develop student drug administration skills relevant to clinical nursing: IV drug preparation, antibiotic reconstitution, insulin injection
• Participate in faculty development programmes in clinical pharmacology and patient medication safety

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• M.Pharm (Pharmacology), M.Sc. Pharmacology, or M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university
• Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacy preferred for senior roles
• 0 - 5 Years of pharmacology teaching or clinical pharmacy experience; freshers with M.Pharm or M.Sc. eligible
• Thorough knowledge of drug classifications and nursing pharmacology as per INC B.Sc. Nursing curriculum
• Ability to teach drug calculations and medication safety practices to nursing students
• Understanding of current prescribing trends, antibiotic stewardship, and high-alert drugs in clinical settings
• Clinical hospital pharmacy or nursing medication management experience is a strong advantage
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
