Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Student Counselor positions in Chennai private arts and science colleges. This role is with a self-financing arts and science college affiliated to the University of Madras or another recognized Tamil Nadu university, offering a stable academic career with NAAC-accredited quality standards and faculty development support.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students experiencing academic stress, family issues, peer conflicts, and mental health challenges
• Conduct orientation programmes for first-year students on campus life, academic expectations, and support services
• Identify students at academic or emotional risk through faculty referrals and proactive outreach
• Organize mental health awareness programmes, stress management workshops, and life skills sessions
• Maintain confidential counselling records and refer serious cases to clinical psychologists or psychiatrists
• Coordinate with parents, faculty, and hostel wardens on student welfare issues
• Prepare and submit student welfare reports to college management and NAAC documentation committees

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• M.Sc. Psychology, M.A. Counselling Psychology, or Master of Social Work (MSW) from a recognized university
• 1 - 5 Years of student counselling or welfare experience in an educational institution
• RCI registration or Rehabilitation Council of India certification preferred for clinical roles
• Good empathy, active listening, and non-judgmental counselling approach
• Familiarity with CBCS academic pressure, examination stress, and student life challenges
• Tamil and English communication skills for diverse student population
• Willingness to be available for crisis support beyond regular working hours
