📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency soft tissue surgeries including spay, neuter, GI surgery, and tumour removal
• Carry out orthopaedic procedures such as fracture repair, TPLO, and joint surgeries
• Plan anaesthesia protocols and supervise anaesthesia monitoring during all surgical procedures
• Manage intra-operative and post-operative complications and escalate critical cases appropriately
• Maintain detailed surgical records and post-operative outcome documentation
• Mentor and supervise junior veterinarians, OT assistants, and para-veterinary staff
• Counsel pet owners pre-operatively and post-operatively on procedure details and recovery expectations

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc. and AH degree with VCI registration and minimum three years of small animal surgical practice
• Demonstrated competency in elective and emergency soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical procedures
• Experience in anaesthesia planning and complication management in a clinical setting
• Ability to perform and supervise a full spectrum of small animal surgical procedures independently
• Familiarity with surgical implants, instruments, and post-surgical physiotherapy referral protocols
• Strong communication skills for informed consent and post-operative pet owner counselling
• Willingness to participate in on-call surgical emergency rosters
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
