📌 Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on treaty benefits and withholding tax obligations under DTAA with various countries
- Handle FEMA compliance including FC-GPR, FC-TRS, ODI, and FLA return filings with RBI
- Compute withholding tax under Section 195 for payments to non-residents and advise on lower deduction certificates
- Assist clients with NRI taxation matters including residential status determination and repatriation planning
- Draft Section 195 opinions and Lower Deduction Certificate (LDC) applications
- Support clients during international tax assessments and represent them in proceedings
- Keep clients updated on CBDT and RBI circulars affecting cross-border transactions
🎓 Qualifications and Requirements
- CA Qualified with international tax and FEMA experience mandatory
- Knowledge of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA) with key jurisdictions
- Familiarity with FEMA 1999 provisions for inbound and outbound investments
- Experience with FC-GPR, FC-TRS, and ODI filings on the RBI FEM portal
- Understanding of Section 195 withholding tax provisions and lower deduction procedures
- Ability to advise NRI clients on residential status, repatriation, and estate planning
- Good drafting skills for international tax opinions, LDC applications, and assessment submissions
- Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
