📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform surgical extractions of impacted mandibular and maxillary third molars including full bony, partial bony, and soft tissue impaction cases under local anaesthesia.
• Place endosseous dental implants in single, multiple, and full-arch implant cases including flap reflection, osteotomy preparation, implant insertion, and suturing under a surgical protocol.
• Perform alveoloplasty, alveolar ridge smoothening, and torus removal procedures as pre-prosthetic surgical preparation for complete denture and implant patients.
• Conduct incisional and excisional biopsy of oral mucosal lesions, gingival overgrowths, and minor salivary gland pathology with specimen submission for histopathology.
• Enucleate dentigerous cysts, radicular cysts, and odontogenic keratocysts under local or conscious sedation, with appropriate cyst lining submission for histopathological evaluation.
• Manage minor maxillofacial trauma including simple alveolar fracture splinting and primary wound closure, and refer complex fracture cases to hospital-based maxillofacial units.
• Coordinate IV sedation dental appointments with the anaesthesiologist for patients who require surgical procedures under conscious sedation for anxiety or medical reasons.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from a DCI-recognised dental institution with valid DCI and Tamil Nadu Dental Council registration.
• Clinical proficiency in surgical extraction of impacted third molars including bony impaction cases requiring bone removal, tooth sectioning, and mucoperiosteal flap management.
• Experience in dental implant placement including pre-surgical CBCT assessment, surgical stent use, implant insertion torque recording, and flap closure suturing.
• Competency in pre-prosthetic surgical procedures including alveoloplasty, ridge augmentation preparation, and torus removal for denture and implant site preparation.
• Ability to perform incisional and excisional biopsies of oral soft tissue lesions with appropriate handling and histopathology submission.
• Knowledge of minor maxillofacial trauma management principles including wound closure, fracture assessment, and appropriate patient referral to hospital-based care.
• Familiarity with IV conscious sedation protocols and the ability to work with an anaesthesiologist for sedation-assisted surgical dental appointments.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
