📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Periodontist (MDS) positions in Coimbatore's private Dental Clinic Chain sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive periodontal examination including six-point pocket charting, bleeding index, mobility assessment, furcation grading, and radiographic bone level evaluation.
• Conduct full-mouth scaling and root planing under local anaesthesia for chronic periodontitis patients and schedule follow-up reassessment at 6 to 8 weeks to evaluate treatment response.
• Perform periodontal flap surgeries including modified Widman flap, open flap debridement, and resective osseous surgery for patients with pockets unresponsive to non-surgical therapy.
• Execute guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and bone grafting procedures using resorbable membranes and particulate bone graft materials for infrabony defect management.
• Perform gingival augmentation procedures including free gingival grafts and connective tissue grafts for cases with gingival recession and inadequate attached gingival width.
• Apply laser-assisted periodontal therapy using diode or Nd:YAG dental lasers for pocket decontamination, gingivectomy, and periodontal tissue management.
• Manage periodontal supportive therapy recall appointments for maintenance patients by monitoring pocket depths, reinforcing oral hygiene, and performing supragingival and subgingival debridement.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MDS Periodontics from a DCI-recognised dental institution with valid DCI and Tamil Nadu Dental Council registration.
• Clinical proficiency in non-surgical periodontal therapy including full-mouth scaling and root planing under local anaesthesia with proper Gracey curette and ultrasonic techniques.
• Competency in periodontal flap surgery including modified Widman flap, osseous surgery, and resective procedures for pockets non-responsive to initial therapy.
• Experience in regenerative periodontal procedures including guided tissue regeneration with barrier membranes and bone grafting for infrabony defect management.
• Ability to perform mucogingival procedures including free gingival grafts and subepithelial connective tissue grafts for recession coverage and gingival augmentation.
• Familiarity with dental laser use for periodontal therapy including diode laser pocket decontamination, gingivectomy, and oral tissue management.
• Knowledge of systemic disease interactions with periodontal health including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and pregnancy for evidence-based patient counselling.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
