📌 Key Responsibilities

• Identify vehicle requirements for daily dispatch operations and book trucks, tempos, or dedicated fleet vehicles from the approved transporter panel
• Negotiate spot freight rates with transporters for non-contract requirements and compare against rate card benchmarks
• Plan optimal delivery routes for multi-drop consignments to minimize freight cost and transit time
• Track vehicles in transit using GPS or transporter tracking portals and update the operations team on status and exceptions
• Follow up with transporters and consignees for proof of delivery collection within defined timelines
• Verify transporter freight invoices against rate cards, consignment weights, and advance payment deductions before forwarding to accounts
• Maintain transporter performance data including on-time delivery rate, POD submission rate, and damage incident frequency
• Coordinate with the fleet team and transport vendors on vehicle fitness certificates, permit validity, and CMVR compliance documentation

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree in any stream from a recognized institution
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in transport coordination, freight operations, or logistics back-office roles
• Knowledge of vehicle types, freight rate structures, and transporter coordination for road logistics operations
• Familiarity with route planning principles and delivery sequencing for multi-drop or hub-and-spoke distribution networks
• Good communication skills in Tamil and English for daily coordination with drivers, transport vendors, and consignees
• MS Excel proficiency for freight cost tracking, POD follow-up registers, and transporter performance MIS
• Awareness of CMVR compliance, vehicle fitness certificate requirements, and permit validity for commercial vehicles is an advantage
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
