📌 Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming jewellery from suppliers and manufacturing units for adherence to purity and quality standards
• Verify BIS hallmarking on all gold jewellery stock and flag non-compliant pieces for rejection
• Check jewellery weight accuracy and compare against purchase invoices and stock records
• Identify surface defects, finishing issues, stone setting problems, and workmanship defects in jewellery
• Maintain quality inspection records and generate daily or weekly quality compliance reports
• Coordinate with the purchase and stock team to return or rework rejected jewellery pieces
• Support internal quality audits and BIS hallmarking compliance checks as directed by the QA manager

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate in Science, Commerce, or any discipline with interest in jewellery quality assurance
• Zero to three years of experience in jewellery quality inspection or gold testing
• Knowledge of BIS hallmarking standards and 916, 22-karat, and 18-karat purity verification
• Familiarity with gold testing methods including touch stone, XRF, or acid testing procedures
• Attention to detail for identifying defects in workmanship, finishing, and stone setting
• Basic documentation and report preparation skills for quality records
• GIA or gemology certificate is an advantage for roles involving studded jewellery QA
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
