📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Orthodontist (MDS) positions in Chennai's private Dental Clinic Chain sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform orthodontic consultations including clinical examination, OPG and lateral cephalometric X-ray analysis, study model analysis, and preparation of individualized treatment plans.
• Bond fixed metal and ceramic bracket orthodontic appliances, place and activate archwires, and manage month-to-month wire progression in fixed appliance cases.
• Prescribe, fit, and monitor clear aligner therapy cases by taking digital impressions or physical polyvinyl siloxane impressions, uploading to the aligner manufacturing platform, and reviewing staged treatment plans.
• Fabricate and deliver removable retainers including Hawley retainers and vacuum-formed clear retainers after fixed appliance debonding or aligner treatment completion.
• Fit functional appliances including myofunctional appliances, twin block, and Frankel appliances for growing patients with skeletal discrepancies requiring interceptive treatment.
• Coordinate orthognathic surgery cases in collaboration with oral surgeons by preparing pre-surgical orthodontic alignment, decompensation records, and post-surgical finishing protocols.
• Monitor patient progress at regular adjustment appointments, record treatment milestones in the clinical record, and communicate estimated treatment completion timelines to patients.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from a DCI-recognised dental institution with valid DCI and Tamil Nadu Dental Council registration.
• Clinical competency in fixed appliance orthodontics including bracket bonding, banding, archwire sequencing, and case finishing for Class I, II, and III malocclusions.
• Experience in clear aligner therapy including case selection, digital or physical impression taking, treatment plan review on aligner software, and attachment placement.
• Proficiency in cephalometric tracing and analysis for growth assessment, treatment planning, and outcome documentation in orthodontic records.
• Ability to independently manage functional appliance cases for growing patients and recognise treatment timing considerations for interceptive orthodontic intervention.
• Good patient communication and motivational skills for managing long treatment duration cases and maintaining patient compliance with appliance wear and appointments.
• Willingness to conduct orthodontic consultations, manage a high-volume appointment schedule across multiple clinic chairs, and meet new case starts targets in a chain environment.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
