📌 Key Responsibilities

• Perform dental examinations on paediatric patients including primary and mixed dentition charting, caries risk assessment, and occlusal development monitoring.
• Apply behaviour management techniques including tell-show-do, positive reinforcement, voice control, and distraction methods to manage anxious and uncooperative child patients.
• Perform pulpotomy and pulpectomy procedures on primary molars with pulp involvement and restore treated teeth with stainless steel crowns or composite restorations.
• Place stainless steel crowns (SSC) on severely carious or pulp-treated primary molars to restore function and maintain arch space until natural exfoliation.
• Fit fixed and removable space maintainers for children who have lost primary teeth prematurely to prevent space loss and guide erupting permanent teeth.
• Apply pit and fissure sealants and topical fluoride varnish as part of the preventive paediatric dentistry programme for high-caries-risk children.
• Identify and manage dental emergencies in children including traumatic injuries to primary and permanent teeth including crown fractures, luxation injuries, and avulsion cases.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• MDS Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry from a DCI-recognised dental institution with valid DCI and Tamil Nadu Dental Council registration.
• Clinical competency in primary and mixed dentition management including caries diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative and preventive treatment delivery.
• Proficiency in paediatric behaviour management techniques including non-pharmacological methods for routine dental management of anxious child patients.
• Ability to perform pulpotomy and pulpectomy on primary molars and complete restorations with stainless steel crowns under rubber dam and local anaesthesia.
• Experience in space maintenance including fabrication design and placement of fixed and removable space maintainers for premature primary tooth loss.
• Knowledge of paediatric dental trauma management guidelines for crown fractures, luxations, intrusions, and avulsion of primary and permanent teeth.
• Patience, empathy, and child-friendly communication skills in Tamil and English for managing apprehensive paediatric patients and engaging parents in the treatment process.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
