📌 Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEP BOQs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire fighting systems from design drawings.
• Carry out material take-offs from MEP drawings for procurement and tender quantity estimation.
• Prepare rate analysis for MEP items including material, labour, plant, and overhead components.
• Process subcontractor interim payment certificates and final account reconciliation.
• Prepare variation order documentation with drawings, specifications, and cost backup for client submission.
• Compare vendor quotations and prepare comparative statements for MEP equipment and material procurement.
• Maintain cost tracking registers and prepare monthly cost reports for project manager review.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or B.E. from a recognised institution.
• 0 to 4 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying or estimating in a contracting or consultancy environment.
• Ability to read MEP layout drawings and extract quantities for all MEP services accurately.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and cost tracking.
• Basic understanding of MEP market rates for materials, equipment, and labour in Chennai.
• Knowledge of contract administration including IPC preparation, variation management, and final account settlement.
• Familiarity with MEP cost estimating software or ERP systems is an advantage for senior QS roles.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
