📌 Key Responsibilities

• Set up and optimise solvent-less, solvent-based, and water-based lamination processes for flexible packaging structures
• Control adhesive coat weight, line speed, and tension settings to meet barrier and seal performance specifications
• Oversee slitter rewinder setup for width, tension, and edge trim accuracy on multi-layer laminates
• Test finished laminate properties including seal strength, COF, OTR, MVTR, and solvent retention
• Investigate process non-conformances such as delamination, tunnelling, and blocking and implement corrective actions
• Maintain process parameter sheets, SPC charts, and batch records for each laminate structure
• Work with the NPD team to trial new film structures and optimise process conditions for new product launches

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Explain the difference between solvent-less and wet lamination and when you would choose each
• How do you calculate and control adhesive coat weight in a solvent-less laminator?
• What causes tunnelling in a flexible laminate and how do you correct it?
• Describe how you would set up a slitter for a 3-layer BOPP and PE laminate structure
• What OTR and MVTR values are typically required for snack food flexible packaging?
• How do you test solvent retention in a finished laminate and what limits apply for food-grade packaging?
• Explain how you use SPC on a lamination line to maintain process stability
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

Diploma or B.E. in Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, or Mechanical Engineering; BIS packaging standard knowledge (IS 1476 for corrugated boards); ISO 9001 internal auditor; Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for prepress; Esko ArtPro or Preps for packaging prepress; FSSAI packaging material compliance for food-grade; CTP (Computer-to-Plate) operation; flexo, gravure, or offset press operator skill; EHS and factory act for safety roles
