📌 Key Responsibilities

• Design custom furniture pieces including sofas, dining tables, beds, cabinets, and feature joinery for interior projects.
• Prepare detailed production drawings in AutoCAD showing dimensions, joinery methods, material specs, and hardware details.
• Create 3D models of furniture designs in SketchUp for client visualization and production team reference.
• Specify materials including solid wood, engineered wood, laminates, veneers, upholstery fabrics, and metal components.
• Coordinate with workshop fabricators and carpentry contractors on production feasibility and lead times.
• Review furniture prototypes and production samples against approved designs and flag deviations for correction.
• Maintain a furniture design library of approved designs and production drawings for firm reference and reuse.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Des in Product Design, Furniture Design, or Interior Design, or Diploma with 0 to 3 years of furniture design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating custom residential furniture design including joinery detail drawings and production files.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed production drawing preparation and SketchUp for concept modelling.
• Strong knowledge of furniture materials including wood species, engineered boards, laminates, veneers, and hardware.
• Understanding of joinery techniques including doweling, dovetail, mortise and tenon, and modular carcass construction.
• Ability to communicate technical design requirements clearly to workshop fabricators and site carpenters.
• Good aesthetic sensibility aligned with contemporary residential interior design styles popular in Coimbatore.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

B.Arch or B.Des (Interior Design) from CIDA/COA-approved institutes for senior design roles; Diploma in Interior Design for junior designer and visualizer roles; AutoCAD 2D/3D for drafting and layout roles; 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Lumion for 3D visualization and rendering roles; SketchUp for quick concept modelling; Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for presentation and mood board preparation; knowledge of IS codes for residential and commercial interior specifications; WELL Building Standard or IGBC Green Interior awareness for premium project roles; modular furniture and hardware product knowledge for site and sales roles
