📋 Job Description

Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Goldsmith / Karigar positions in Coimbatore's private Jewellery Showroom sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate gold jewellery including chains, rings, bangles, and necklaces as per design specifications
• Perform filing, soldering, shaping, and finishing operations on gold jewellery pieces
• Prepare wax models or moulds for casting operations in coordination with the casting team
• Assist in stone setting by preparing the jewellery mount and securing stones as directed
• Polish and finish jewellery pieces to achieve required surface quality and sheen
• Maintain accurate gold weight records during fabrication to control material loss within acceptable limits
• Repair, resize, and restore customer jewellery pieces as assigned by the workshop supervisor

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI certificate in Goldsmithing trade or completion of a recognised jewellery making apprenticeship
• Two to eight years of hands-on gold fabrication and jewellery making experience
• Proficiency in core goldsmithing techniques including filing, soldering, casting support, and finishing
• Ability to replicate jewellery designs from sketches, photographs, or sample pieces accurately
• Understanding of gold purity standards including 22-karat and 18-karat to avoid mixing
• Good dexterity and manual precision for fine jewellery work and stone setting support
• Knowledge of gold weight management and acceptable wastage norms in jewellery fabrication
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.

Graduate or 12th pass for retail sales and customer service roles; BHM or Diploma in Retail Management for showroom operations; GIA Graduate Gemologist or GIA Diamonds certificate for diamond grading roles; Hallmarking awareness and BIS guidelines for quality and assurance roles; Tally for accounts roles in jewellery business; ITI Goldsmithing trade certificate for karigar/goldsmith roles; knowledge of 22-karat, 18-karat, and 916 hallmark standards for all floor staff; familiarity with TN VAT, GST on gold, and making charges for billing roles
