📌 Key Responsibilities

• Write and maintain Linux kernel device drivers for custom SoC peripherals
• Implement platform drivers and integrate with Linux I2C, SPI, and GPIO subsystems
• Write and modify device tree source files for custom hardware configurations
• Debug kernel panics, memory leaks, and race conditions using ftrace and kgdb
• Build custom embedded Linux images using Yocto Project or Buildroot
• Optimise boot time and kernel footprint for resource-constrained embedded Linux targets
• Collaborate with application teams to define kernel-userspace interfaces via sysfs and ioctls

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Explain the difference between platform_driver and i2c_driver registration in the Linux kernel.
• How do you debug a kernel oops or null pointer dereference in a device driver?
• What is the purpose of devm_* APIs and why are they preferred in modern drivers?
• How do you map MMIO registers to virtual addresses in a Linux driver?
• Describe how DMA buffer allocation works for a character device driver.
• Have you added a custom node to a device tree and written a matching platform driver?
• How do you use ftrace or perf to diagnose performance issues in kernel code?
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
