📌 Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security event dashboards and SIEM consoles on a shift basis to detect and triage incoming alerts from client environments.
• Analyse logs from firewalls, endpoints, servers, and cloud platforms to identify potential security incidents and false positives.
• Escalate confirmed or high-confidence security incidents to Tier 2 analysts with documented initial findings and severity assessment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for common alert types including phishing, malware alerts, brute force attempts, and policy violations.
• Update and close incident tickets in the ticketing system with accurate timelines, actions taken, and resolution notes.
• Perform basic correlation of events across multiple log sources to identify suspicious patterns requiring further investigation.
• Participate in shift handover briefings and maintain awareness of active threats, ongoing investigations, and client-specific context.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E., B.Tech, or BCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Foundational understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, firewalls, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with at least one SIEM platform such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel for log monitoring and alert handling.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred; candidates actively pursuing it will also be considered for trainee analyst roles.
• Ability to read and interpret security logs from common sources including Windows Event Logs, syslog, and web server access logs.
• Shift work flexibility is required as SOC analyst roles typically operate 24x7 across day, evening, and night shifts.
• Strong attention to detail, methodical documentation habits, and the ability to follow structured escalation and response procedures.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
