📌 Key Responsibilities

• Investigate escalated security incidents from Tier 1 analysts, performing deep-dive analysis of logs, network traffic, and endpoint telemetry.
• Conduct threat hunting exercises across client environments using SIEM and EDR data to identify undetected attacker activity.
• Develop and tune SIEM correlation rules, detection logic, and alert thresholds to reduce false positives and improve detection fidelity.
• Perform root cause analysis for confirmed security incidents and document detailed incident timelines and attacker techniques using the MITRE ATTandCK framework.
• Contain, eradicate, and coordinate recovery actions for active security incidents in collaboration with client IT and security teams.
• Mentor and technically guide Tier 1 analysts during shift operations and assist in building their investigation capabilities.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and client-facing summaries translating technical findings into clear and actionable security guidance.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology with two to five years of hands-on SOC investigation experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with SIEM platforms including writing custom correlation rules, building dashboards, and tuning detection logic.
• Solid understanding of the incident response lifecycle: preparation, identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATTandCK framework and ability to map observed adversary behaviour to tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Experience working with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools such as CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Ability to perform packet capture analysis using Wireshark and interpret network-level indicators during incident investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce clear incident reports and liaise with client stakeholders under pressure.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
