📌 Key Responsibilities

• Lead the shift SOC team, assigning analyst workloads, reviewing escalations, and making incident command decisions during active security events.
• Perform advanced threat hunting across client environments using behavioural analytics, threat intelligence, and UEBA data to surface novel attacker activity.
• Design and implement SOAR playbooks to automate repetitive tier 1 and tier 2 response tasks, improving SOC efficiency and SLA adherence.
• Own SIEM health, rule lifecycle management, and detection content pipeline ensuring correlation logic stays aligned with the current threat landscape.
• Act as primary escalation point for high-severity incidents and coordinate cross-functional response with client security and IT leadership.
• Track and report SOC KPIs including mean time to detect, mean time to respond, false positive rates, and SLA compliance to security management.
• Mentor and develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts through structured knowledge sharing, tabletop exercises, and post-incident debriefs.

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology with four to nine years of progressive SOC experience including team leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in SIEM platforms including architecture, tuning, use case development, and integration with threat intelligence and SOAR tools.
• Proven track record in leading incident response for major security events across complex, multi-client or enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures using the MITRE ATTandCK and MITRE D3FEND frameworks.
• Experience developing and optimising SOAR playbooks for automated triage, enrichment, and response actions across common incident types.
• Ability to manage team schedules, SLA reporting, analyst performance, and shift operations in a 24x7 security operations centre.
• Relevant advanced certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, EC-Council CSCU, or MITRE ATTandCK Defender preferred alongside hands-on SOC leadership experience.
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Coimbatore.
