Jobzi is sourcing qualified candidates for Air Cargo Executive positions in Chennai's private Aviation and Airport Ground Handling sector. 📌 Key Responsibilities

• Accept and process import and export air cargo consignments at the cargo terminal including weight and dimension verification, packing condition check, and cargo type screening
• Prepare and process Air Waybills (AWBs) for export consignments including shipper details, consignee details, commodity description, weight, and declared value for carriage
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shippers, and consignees for cargo booking confirmation, cargo delivery to the terminal, and documentation submission deadlines
• Screen accepted cargo consignments for dangerous goods using the IATA DGR checklist and escalate undeclared or suspect DG cargo to the duty manager and AVSEC team
• Track inbound and outbound cargo consignment status through the cargo terminal management system and update freight forwarders and consignees on cargo availability and delivery
• Prepare cargo acceptance registers, cargo manifests, and handover documentation for each flight and ensure alignment with the airline's load plan
• Coordinate with customs for import cargo examination, cargo release, and bonded cargo storage procedures at the airport cargo terminal
• Prepare cargo terminal MIS reports covering consignments accepted, tonnage handled, flight-wise cargo uplift, and pending delivery items for the cargo supervisor

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in air cargo operations, cargo terminal handling, or freight forwarding air operations; freshers with aviation knowledge are considered
• Valid AVSEC certification and eligibility to obtain a valid APOC airport entry pass for cargo terminal restricted zone operations
• Basic knowledge of AWB preparation, air cargo documentation, and cargo acceptance procedures at an airport cargo terminal
• Awareness of IATA DGR dangerous goods screening requirements and the escalation procedure for undeclared or mis-declared cargo
• Good communication skills in English and Tamil for coordination with freight forwarders, airlines, and customs officials
• MS Excel proficiency for cargo acceptance register maintenance, MIS preparation, and cargo status tracking
