📌 Key Responsibilities

• Screen departing passengers and their cabin baggage using X-ray machines, DFMD (door frame metal detectors), and HHMD (handheld metal detectors) at the security checkpoint in compliance with BCAS security procedures
• Operate X-ray baggage screening equipment to detect prohibited and restricted items in passenger cabin baggage and checked baggage at the security checkpoint
• Enforce access control at all restricted zone entry points including the check-in hall, boarding gate, and airside entry by verifying valid APOC passes and authorized personnel credentials
• Conduct physical frisking of passengers and hand searches of baggage when the automated screening indicates the need for secondary manual verification
• Identify and escalate suspected prohibited items, suspicious packages, or anomalous passenger behaviour to the duty security manager and CISF or BCAS as required
• Conduct hold baggage screening (HBS) for all checked-in bags on designated flights using HBS equipment and the trace detection system
• Maintain the access control register and sign-in log at restricted zone entry points and report unauthorized access attempts to the duty security manager
• Complete daily security duty reports covering screening volumes, prohibited items detected, access violations, and incident counts for the aviation security supervisor

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• 12th pass from a recognized board
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in aviation security, airport security, or industrial security; freshers with AVSEC certification are considered
• Valid AVSEC certification from a BCAS-recognized training institute as mandatory for all aviation security officer roles at Indian airports
• Valid APOC airport entry pass or eligibility to obtain one for access to the security-controlled zones at Chennai airport
• Physical fitness for standing duties at security checkpoints and conducting manual frisking and baggage searches during long shifts
• Knowledge of BCAS security instructions, prohibited items list, and escalation procedures for suspicious passengers and packages
• Willingness to work rotating shifts covering all operational hours at Chennai airport including night shifts and weekend duties
