📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) using on-pump and off-pump (OPCAB) techniques
  • Operate on cardiac valves for repair and replacement of mitral, aortic, tricuspid, and pulmonary valves
  • Manage aortic aneurysm and dissection cases requiring emergent or elective surgical intervention
  • Perform congenital heart surgeries including ASD, VSD, TOF, and complex cyanotic corrections in paediatric patients
  • Manage patients on ECMO (Extra-corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) for cardiogenic shock and respiratory failure
  • Participate in heart transplantation programme as harvesting, implanting, or post-transplant care surgeon
  • Conduct Heart Team case reviews and participate in multidisciplinary structural heart and complex valve meetings

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

  • MBBS + MS General Surgery + MCh Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from a recognized institution
  • 5 - 18 Years of post-MCh cardiac surgical experience
  • TNMC registration mandatory
  • Comprehensive competency in CABG, valve surgery, and aortic surgery
  • ECMO cannulation and management experience preferred
  • Congenital cardiac surgery and paediatric cardiac experience preferred for hospitals with paediatric cardiac programmes
