📌 Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the air cargo terminal operations team during the assigned shift covering cargo acceptance, documentation processing, cargo build-up, and flight delivery to the aircraft
• Oversee the acceptance and screening of all inbound and outbound cargo consignments including DGR verification, packing compliance checks, and weight and dimension validation
• Manage AWB and cargo manifest documentation accuracy for all flights handled during the shift and ensure documentation is submitted to the airline and customs within stipulated timelines
• Coordinate with customs officers for import cargo examination scheduling, bonded cargo storage, and timely cargo release for consignees and freight forwarders
• Monitor and enforce IATA DGR compliance across the cargo team and escalate any non-compliant dangerous goods shipments to the duty manager and airline security team
• Manage cargo team staffing and work allocation during the shift to meet the cargo acceptance, build-up, and delivery SLA for each assigned flight
• Prepare shift cargo operations reports covering consignments accepted, tonnage handled, DGR shipments processed, and any cargo exceptions or customs holds for the operations manager
• Coordinate with the airline load control team for cargo weight, ULD allocation, and cargo build-up instructions for each departure from Chennai airport

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
• 2 - 6 Years of experience in air cargo operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role at an airport cargo terminal
• Valid AVSEC certification and a valid APOC airport entry pass for cargo terminal restricted zone supervisory operations
• Hands-on knowledge of air cargo documentation including AWB processing, cargo manifests, and customs coordination at an airport cargo terminal
• Familiarity with IATA DGR compliance requirements for cargo acceptance, screening, and non-compliant cargo escalation procedures
• Good leadership and communication skills for managing the cargo operations team and coordinating with airlines, customs, and freight forwarders
• MS Excel or cargo terminal management system proficiency for shift MIS reporting, cargo acceptance records, and flight-wise tonnage tracking
