📌 Key Responsibilities

• Check in passengers at the dedicated airline counter using the airline's departure control system (DCS) and issue boarding cards with confirmed seat assignments
• Weigh and tag checked baggage at the check-in counter, apply destination and carousel-coded baggage tags, and ensure bags are within the airline's free baggage allowance
• Identify and collect excess baggage fees from passengers whose check-in baggage exceeds the applicable allowance and issue receipts through the airline's payment collection process
• Verify passenger identity documents, visa, and travel authorization before completing check-in for international departures at Chennai airport
• Handle seat allocation requests including window and aisle preferences, companion seating, and upgrade eligibility based on the airline's check-in priority policy
• Manage check-in counter queues efficiently during peak hours to minimize passenger wait time and ensure timely counter closure before departure
• Assist passengers at self-service kiosks when available and guide first-time users through the self-check-in and bag-tag printing process
• Compile and submit the final check-in summary to the load controller including the number of passengers checked in, baggage weight, and excess baggage collections for load sheet preparation

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution in any stream
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in airline check-in, airport passenger services, or aviation ground handling; freshers with aviation knowledge are considered
• Valid AVSEC certification and eligibility to obtain a valid APOC airport entry pass for terminal and check-in counter restricted zone access
• Hands-on knowledge of any major airline DCS check-in platform or willingness to complete DCS system training during induction
• Good communication skills in English and Tamil for passenger-facing check-in counter operations at Chennai airport
• Accuracy and attention to detail for baggage weight recording, excess baggage fee collection, and final check-in summary submission
• Presentable appearance, patient temperament, and a service mindset for handling a high volume of passengers during busy departure peaks
