📌 Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound queries from shippers, consignees, and freight forwarders regarding booking status, vessel schedule, container availability, and shipment tracking
• Process Bill of Lading amendment requests from shippers including consignee changes, description corrections, and port of discharge modifications within cut-off deadlines
• Manage booking rollover requests when shippers miss the vessel cut-off and coordinate with the operations team for rebooking on the next available vessel
• Issue arrival notices and delivery orders for import consignments and coordinate with consignees and CHAs for timely cargo collection
• Handle demurrage and detention dispute queries by retrieving container movement timelines and escalating to the tariff team for waivers or adjustments when warranted
• Log all customer interactions in the CRM ticketing system with accurate categorization, resolution status, and follow-up dates to ensure no query is missed
• Coordinate with the vessel planning, documentation, and accounts teams to gather information needed to resolve complex customer queries
• Maintain shipper and consignee satisfaction by providing accurate, proactive, and professional communication in Tamil and English across all query channels

🎓 Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution
• 0 - 3 Years of experience in shipping customer service, freight forwarding back-office, or logistics customer support roles; freshers with shipping knowledge considered
• Good knowledge of Bill of Lading amendment procedures, booking cut-off rules, and vessel rollover processes at a private shipping line
• Familiarity with arrival notice issuance, delivery order procedures, and the import cargo release process at a CFS or container terminal
• Basic understanding of demurrage and detention tariffs and the process for raising disputes or waiver requests with the shipping line
• Excellent communication skills in Tamil and English for handling shipper and consignee queries via phone and email
• Patience, accuracy, and a customer-oriented approach to resolving shipping documentation and schedule-related problems within defined turnaround times
• Good Tamil and English communication skills for team coordination and client interaction in Chennai.
